Commissioned by *** British restaurant The Fat Duck, the Rockpool plate is a personal take on the emblematic vessel containing the famed crab soup recipe. Over the past 25 years The Fat Duck, have taken their guests on a journey through food and emotions. Here, I took ticket to the seashore playing with rocky textures, cavernous depths and surprisingly garish colors of seashore algue & other living organisms.
With the WoodLand series, one imagines an earthy undergrowth. Clawing roots sprout, dark emerald enamels carpet the platter.

RICCIO DI MARE

Vintage-looking urchins. The marina blue, terra-cotta orange, glittery pinky-yellow enamels are evocative of the Italian riviera of the 30s. These Riccio Di Mare are prickly relics of a Dolce Vita era.

An undulating algue, a broken inside of a shell beached on the coast, layers of frothy foam shore up by the waves….the sea and its many facets.

Slimy, sticky, and weird, these octopus-like vessels are a nod to the marinated bouchées typically found in aperitivos along the Mediterranean coast.
